Oval is co-founded by Christopher Alspach, Director of Coffee and an SCA-certified roaster since 2014. Christopher developed his craft over seven years in Portland, Oregon’s specialty coffee scene, roasting tens of thousands of commercial batches and helping shape one of the most quality-driven coffee markets in the country. His experience brings technical rigor, sourcing discipline, and long-term consistency to every Oval roast.
The brand offers whole-bean coffee, single-serve pour-over formats designed to deliver café-quality coffee anywhere using only hot water and a mug, and coffee catering for hospitality, retail, and events across New York City’s five boroughs. All formats are built to perform across common brew methods including pour-over, drip, Chemex, AeroPress, and espresso.

Andrew Itzkowitz, Managing Director and Co-Founder, leads Oval’s commercial strategy across sales, marketing, operations, and finance. Andrew brings over 20 years of consumer packaged goods experience, having held leadership roles across both legacy and emerging brands. His background includes work with companies such as Bonne Maman Preserves, Yogi Tea, and multiple venture-backed food brands, where he focused on retail expansion, brand positioning, and go-to-market execution. At Oval, Andrew bridges specialty craftsmanship with scalable retail discipline, ensuring the brand resonates with both consumers and the broader food and beverage industry.
